Bath
to Shrewsbury...
August 2011 The Goold Family have been attending the 'Bishops
Castle' rally since the late 1980s. We've enjoyed a warm welcome to
the rally over the years, so, we were really excited the Society had
invited the Sentinel Club to attend this anniversary event.
Justin as driver, with Boot and Dawn swapping out for firing halfway.
The journey from Bath to shrewsbury is apporx 140 miles and took us
5 and half hours, with one waterstop. Over the course of the weekend
most of the family were able join in the fun. To top off an enjoyable
weekend, we were awarded the ‘Best Waggon’ cup, presented by the mayor
of Shrewsbury.
Sentinel
Waggon Works August
2011 After a day of rest (and cleaning!) we set
off at 9am from the rally site Onslow Park, to Bishops Castle where
most engines and some Sentinels were starting the road-run. With a
very enjoyable lunch stop, we returned to the rally after 50miles
steaming to drop off the 'littleones' and proceeded into Shrewsbury
town with a brief visit to the Morris's Oil Works, followed by a visit
to the original Sentinel Waggon Works.
S-Types
on Saturday Night Road Run
August 2011 On Saturday evening some of the S-type owners
decided to go for a road-run to the pub, only a short distance away,
but beautiful scenery. The pub sits alongside a river, a perfect spot
for a pint!

A Sunday
Steam-up May
2007 It's a perfect day for steaming through
the countryside with family and friends on the back of an 'S' type
Sentinel steam waggon.
It may have been fun for us, but it was hot and thirsty work for driver
Justin and stoker Gary.
Joining us for a jar or two at the pub were John and Boot in their
10HP 1911 Stanley.
